AZUL PROFUNDO

ARTE  MÁGICO  AGUA  ARMONÍA

En tiempos de crisis, existe un arte para denunciar, para provocar, cuestionar, y expresar el malestar e indignación ante toda injusticia y violencia que hay en el mundo en que vivimos. Y su papel es de gran importancia.

Pero creo necesario también, y más que nunca, que siga existiendo un arte que nos ayude a vivir. Un oasis donde reconfortarnos en tiempos de incertidumbre, una música que alivie las heridas del alma, un espacio que nos invite al silencio, y que nos ayude a recuperar una cierta intimidad que hemos perdido.

Yo intento trabajar desde aquí, y sería muy feliz si pudiera transmitir algo de ésto a mi entorno.

El azul es para mí un color mágico. Después de trabajar durante años con ocres en mi Obra de Tierra, buscando revivir la esencia de las pinturas rupestres, tuve la necesidad de volver al color. Tal vez por la nostalgia de México, tal vez porque lo echaba de menos a mi alrededor. Empecé con el azul inspirado de un tipo particular de meditación y por la imponente presencia del mar de Mallorca. Y así empezó ésta nueva etapa, a la que nombré Blue Paintings.

En algunas obras intento representar las diferentes tonalidades, contrastes y reflejos del agua, siempre cambiante, como la vida misma. Otras son abstracciones de paisajes. En todas, como Kandinsky, los colores son para mí como notas musicales que, combinadas entre ellas, generan diferentes ritmos. Con el mismo sentimiento, grandes jazzistas como Miles Davis, han utilizado también nombres de colores para sus composiciones. Los medios son distintos, pero la búsqueda de armonía es la misma.

Quisiera agradecer a mis queridos amigos Fernanda Lima y Karl Zimmermann, su enorme cariño y apoyo en la realización de éste evento.

Hablar de esta palabra, azul, que solemos asociar con el frío y que titula la Exposición de nuestro querido Mateo Vallescar, adquiere en ésta obra un matiz de frescura y ligereza . Asociamos al azul con la tristeza y la melancolía, pero si bien tenemos en la obra de Mateo nostalgia por recuerdos y sueños de momentos vividos en nuestro país y su muy querida Mallorca, descubrimos sencillez, sinceridad y también claridad .

Más allá de posicionamientos contextuales o ideológicos que son por ahora acogidos con facilidad, el trabajo de Mateo tiene esa cualidad de transmisión de ideas y valores inherentes a su técnica misma; profundidad y determinación que solemos olvidar. El fin último de una actividad como la Pintura es emocionarnos, detenernos y hacernos cambiar por un momento o para siempre .

Pulcritud, serenidad pero sobre todo luminosidad es lo que vamos a encontrarnos en esta exposición de añiles, índigos, celestes, cielos y turquesas , acentuados por el emplazamiento impasible del blanco y el negro .

Gusto por vivir, de mostrar un trabajo lleno de pulimento y entrega es lo que Mateo nos guarda para este día, donde también nos acompañarán rojos y grises acompasados de sutileza .

Joan Muñoz is on the top list of Majorcan Designers.  In a constant research of new ideas,  new forms and new materials,  his work is absolutely outstanding.  Never worried about originality,  his designs transmit the simple joy of the process of creating.  And the results are awesome!  Purity of lines,  fressness,  elegance,  lightness,  simplicity...   After,  originality arises,  in a very natural way...                                                                                                                  

Another exceptional quality that I find in Joan's work is that his vision of contemporary design is full of warmth...                              

Not only talented,  Joan is truly someone in love with life and has also an extraordinary sense of humor...   This cocktail of qualities make of him one of the most promising young designers of Majorca,  and reflect the new spirit of the island.

Very gently,  very peacefully and very smooth
Like the first lights of the morning
And almost without noticing it...

With a small group of people
The last ones that remained
After a night full of joy
Talking about anything,  talking about nothing,  maybe laughing...

I was not tired at all
I was just very quiet,  observing,  listening,  feeling...
There was a sort of happiness in the air
Was it the presence of deep love and understanding in my heart?
Or just my heart simply and finally in peace?

And 2012 arrived for me like this
Like a promise
A promise of life
A promise of changes
A promise of something new
A promise of happiness for everyone
Like the promise of a World that was going to rebirth...

And 2012 arrived for me like this
Very quiet,  very peaceful,  and with this music
That filled up the space in a very particular and unexpected way...

I did not wake up,  because I did not sleep
But I was more awaken than ever...

Nikola Saric (1985) is a young Serbian artist that lives and works in Germany.

Graduated from the TechnoArt School in Belgrade, in the branch of jewelry of art objects. In 2006 he enrolled the studies at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade. A year later he changed to study wall painting at the Academy of Serbian Orthodox Church for Arts and Conservation, where he actually works on MA degree.

 

He has participated in several exhibitions at home and abroad, and was invited to develop  the project for the new floor mosaic for the Church of St. Petka in the Municipality of Paris Bondy, with the task of creating a richer cultural content and a more attractive tourism offer for this municipality. 

Today he focuses on projects of mural paintings,  for private interiors and public display. In 2010 he created the Wall Suit concept,  an original proposition to understand wall painting and design,  as a way to dress up a space.  And the following year he started a fashion label with the same name,  based in Hannover,  Germany.

All along the History of Art,  walls have been painted,  decorated with plaster,  stone,  wood,  and all sort of materials.  From the Prehistoric cave drawings,  through the murals of The Renaissence and the art of Keith Haring,  wall art has been an expression of the culture of it's time.  Modern societies seem to have forgotten this,  to express the culture of their time on their walls.  With his Wall Suit concept,  Nikola gives a another meaning to a wall,  an alternative view to suit the space,  and the wall becomes a work of art.

Energy Flow

 

Energy Flow representa otro aspecto del flujo de la energía.  Los antiguos taoístas observaron que en la Naturaleza existían dos energías complementarias,  como en los dos polos de una pila (negativo/positivo),  a las que denominaron Yin y Yang.  El Yin representa lo femenino,  el Yang,  lo masculino. 

En mis clases de taichi,  siempre he utilizado la metáfora del árbol,  o de una planta,  para explicar éste concepto.  Para crecer,  el árbol necesita las dos energías.  El tronco y las ramas van hacia arriba,  atraídos por la energía Yang,  masculina,  del Cielo;  y las raíces profundizan cada vez más,  atraídas por la energía Yin,  de la Tierra.  Al igual que los árboles y las plantas,  los seres humanos,  y todas las criaturas de la creación,  necesitamos las dos para crecer.  Ambas energías interactúan constantemente y fluyen en los dos sentidos.  También,  toda criatura viviente,  las lleva intrínsecas en su propia naturaleza.  Chi,  es el nombre taoísta,  que se le da a la energía.

Energy Flow representa,  siguiendo éste concepto,  la potente llegada del flujo de energía Yang,  para fertilizar la Tierra.

El flujo de la energía se mueve en la forma de una onda sinusoidal.
La luz es una forma de energía.
La energía se mueve de un punto a otro punto, recorriendo el espacio y el tiempo.
El movimiento es energía en el espacio durante un periodo espacio-tiempo.
El ritmo es la música que crea la energía. El ritmo crea la estructura coreográfica.
El ritmo puede ser más rápido o más lento, dilatado o comprimido: forma la banda sonora durante el viaje de la pieza.
